I would like to keep the book recommendations and reviews up for a month, where I intend to remove them for other book recommendations.
BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS 4
THE DEAD STILL WATCH BY SUSIE CLIFFT SMITH
A very well-written book on a long-kept mystery. The writer's style is like reading poetry, infused with a prose style. Good mystery that kept me reading until the end. 5 stars
BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS 3
AHAB AND JEZEBEL: A MATCH MADE IN HELL
Good historical fiction, but too wordy. The words diluted the action. In real life, even in the past, most people would not speak like this. Good enough for a read. 4 stars for being too wordy.
I would like to add here that my reading disciplines consist of Nooks (through Barnes & Noble) Kindles (through Amazon) tablets that I can hold reading materials.
Print books, and audio books when my eyes become too tired to read and my brain wants to absorb more.
Book Recommendations: 1
The Iron Maiden & Brass Knuckles Harry by Susie Clifft Smith
I am presently reading this book through Getauthenticbooks.com. Later I can give a full analysis of the project.
So far it is good action but little on backstory or context when it comes to the characters.
This is the context when it comes to the above book on Amazon:
Fast-paced book with very little backstory and character development, until much later, when it is all explained...
Maybe the book was written that way so as not to take away from the action. Twists and turns along the way. I am looking for more intrigue and action from this author. 5 stars
BOOK RECOMMENDATION 6
DEADLY GROUND BY LANE CAREY
Well-paced with good character development
Well-paced thriller with good character development. Action is well-paced, too, and allows for backstories to broaden the character. Jack Mercer is close to a superhero, but with human weaknesses. Looking forward to book 3.
Book Recommendation 5
Never Forgive by Lane Carey
Good Action, Many Betrayals
Good action with several characters moving in and out of scenes. Many betrayals. Not sure who is on your side, which strengthens the main character's drive to end their lives. Pacing is sometimes slow due to over-explanation of surroundings and context, but not enough to strangle the story.
BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS 2
48 INVISIBLE LAWS: BEYOND THE BOARDROOM
It is a well-written book on the many laws that govern our lives, but it is hidden. These laws are not exposed, but we move through these laws daily, unsure whether we are being guided. Very in-depth reading, and you will need a quiet place for contemplation. For deep thinkers. 5 stars
